Welcome to Falling Minds ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information you provide when accessing or participating in Falling Minds: Season 1 – Killer Hunt (the "Tournament"), including our website, Discord server, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By registering for or participating in the Tournament, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, you must not register for or participate in the Tournament.
This policy is compliant with applicable Indian data protection principles under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
02Data We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the Tournament. This includes:
- Identity Information: Your full name, display name, and username as provided during registration.
- Contact Information: Your email address, used for account communications and tournament updates.
- Discord Account Data: Your Discord user ID, username, discriminator, avatar, and verified email, collected via OAuth 2.0 authentication at the time of login.
- Payment Records: Transaction IDs, payment status, and timestamp of payment, provided by Razorpay. We do not collect, store, or have access to your card numbers, bank account details, or UPI credentials.
- Gameplay Data: In-game activity logs, points history, votes cast, marketplace transactions, puzzle submissions, and elimination records necessary to operate the game.
- Technical Data: IP addresses, browser type, device type, and access timestamps, collected automatically for security monitoring and fraud prevention.
03How We Use Your Data
Your personal information is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Account Management: To register, authenticate, and manage your participation account throughout the Tournament.
- Identity Verification: To enforce the strict one-account-per-player policy and prevent fraudulent or duplicate registrations.
- Payment Processing: To verify payment of the ₹150 registration fee and confirm eligibility to participate.
- Gameplay Administration: To track points, votes, marketplace activity, and player standings in accordance with the official game rules.
- Communications: To send you important updates, announcements, schedule changes, elimination results, and support responses. We do not send marketing communications unrelated to the Tournament.
- Security & Integrity: To detect, investigate, and prevent cheating, multi-accounting, and other rule violations that may harm fair gameplay.
- Legal Compliance: To meet our obligations under applicable Indian laws and regulations.
04Payment Information
All payments are processed exclusively through Razorpay, a PCI DSS-compliant payment gateway licensed by the Reserve Bank of India. When you complete the ₹150 registration fee:
- Your payment details (card numbers, UPI IDs, net banking credentials) are entered directly into Razorpay's secure environment and are never transmitted to, processed by, or stored on our servers.
- We receive only a payment confirmation containing a Razorpay transaction ID, payment status (success/failure), and timestamp.
- This payment confirmation is stored solely to verify your registration and resolve any payment disputes.
- Razorpay's own privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information. We encourage you to review it at razorpay.com/privacy.

05Discord Authentication
Falling Minds uses Discord OAuth 2.0 as the primary authentication method. When you click "Login with Discord," you are redirected to Discord's official authorization page, where you choose what permissions to grant us.
- We request only the minimum required scopes: identify (your Discord user ID, username, and avatar) and email (your verified Discord email address).
- We do not request access to your Discord messages, server list, friends list, or the ability to post on your behalf.
- Your Discord credentials (password, token) are never shared with us. Authentication is handled entirely by Discord's infrastructure.
- Discord's Privacy Policy governs how Discord handles your data on their platform. Review it at discord.com/privacy.
06Data Protection
We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction, or disclosure. These measures include:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
- Access controls restricting data access to authorised administrators only.
- Regular monitoring for suspicious activity and potential security breaches.
- Secure storage of data in access-controlled environments.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users as soon as reasonably practicable.
07Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Payment Processors: With Razorpay, solely to facilitate and verify your registration payment, subject to their own privacy policy.
- Legal Requirements: With government authorities, law enforcement, or regulatory bodies if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or legal process.
- Fraud Prevention: With relevant parties to detect and prevent cheating, identity fraud, or multi-account violations, where strictly necessary to protect the integrity of the Tournament.
- Tournament Operations: Certain non-sensitive gameplay data (e.g., your in-game username, points, and vote records) may be visible to other players as part of normal game mechanics.
In-game public data (leaderboards, vote outcomes, elimination announcements) is shared within the Tournament's Discord server and is therefore visible to all registered participants.
08Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:
- Active Players: Your data is retained for the duration of the Tournament (Season 1), which spans approximately 4 weeks.
- Post-Tournament: Data may be retained for up to 90 days after the conclusion of Season 1 for purposes of prize distribution, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
- Payment Records: Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years in accordance with applicable Indian financial record-keeping regulations.
- Disqualified Players: Records relating to disqualification may be retained to enforce bans across future seasons.
Upon expiration of the applicable retention period, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
10Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal obligations and legitimate interests (e.g., payment record retention).
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Note that withdrawal of consent may result in disqualification from the Tournament, as we require your data to administer the game.
- Right to Raise a Grievance: You may raise a data protection concern by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable period.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
11Under 16
Falling Minds: Season 1 is intended for participants who are 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16. If you are under 16, you must not register for or participate in the Tournament.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from an under 16 individual, we will delete such data promptly and disqualify the associated account without refund.
12Policy Changes
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Announce the change in the official Falling Minds Discord server.
Your continued participation in the Tournament after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
